Marucci Sports sold to Fox Factory Holding Corp for $572M

Marucci Sports, a Baton Rouge sports manufacturer primarily known as a baseball bat supplier for MLB, “has been sold” for $572M to Fox Factory Holding Corp., according to Robert Stewart of the Baton Rouge ADVOCATE. Compass Diversified, a Connecticut firm that bought the company in April 2020 for $200M, is selling to Fox Factory Holding Corp., and the deal is expected “to close later this month.” Stewart noted Fox Factory Holding Corp. is the parent company of FOX, which "designs and manufactures products for bicycles, on-road vehicles and off-roach vehicles." Co-founder and CEO of Marucci Sports LLC Kurt Ainsworth, along with Joe Lawerence and Reed Dickens, founded the company in 2009. Its first acquisition was Marucci Bat Co., which former LSU athletic trainer Jack Marucci “launched in a backyard shed” in 2004. In 2017, Marucci acquired Pennsylvania-based custom wood bat competitor Victus Sports for “an undisclosed price” (Baton Rouge ADVOCATE, 11/2).
