In Dallas, Mitchell Parton noted Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. “purchased competing brand BigShots Golf and some of its locations” from Invited Inc. of Dallas for about $29M. The deal “includes one U.S. location owned by Invited, royalties from three franchised locations and development rights for other potential locations.” It also “includes an agreement” with Invited to “feature Topgolf Callaway Brands’ products and merchandise at Invited’s more than 140 golf and country clubs” (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 11/1).

FRONT AND CENTER: In K.C., Sam McDowell noted the airport in Frankfurt, Germany houses a Hugo Boss store which features Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and “others as part of a digital video advertisement outside the front glass.” This ad “sits smack-dab in the middle of the airport.” Just outside the exit, “there’s another one” -- a “more predictable one.” Mahomes is on a “digital poster for Adidas, an original and prominent sponsor” (K.C. STAR, 11/2).

FIRST OF MANY: FOOTWEAR NEWS reported actor Mark Wahlberg’s Municipal brand has “signed its first official NFL partnership” with Patriots LB Matthew Judon. The two “plan to partner together on a multitude of charitable initiatives” that support the local “underserved Boston community.” The partnership “will feature Judon in Municipal attire both on and off the field, during training, and beyond” (FOOTWEAR NEWS, 11/2).
