'26 Pan Pacific swim championships moved to L.A.

The 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships will be "hosted in Los Angeles," allowing the city to "host a top international championship ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games." The move comes following agreement between the four charter nations of Australia, Canada, Japan and the U.S., who rotate hosting the event. Canada had been scheduled to host the Pan Pacs in 2022, but those championships were "postponed to 2026 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic." It will now "look to host a future edition of the Pan Pacs" (SWIMMING WORLD, 10/31).
