People & Personalities: Flyers name broadcast replacement for Keith Jones

In Philadelphia, Rob Tornoe noted Brian Boucher will “take over as lead analyst for the Flyers this season” on NBC Sports Philadelphia, replacing Keith Jones in the booth. Boucher also is “leaving ESPN to join TNT as the 'between the benches' analyst on their top crew," reuniting with his former NBC colleagues Kenny Albert and Eddie Olczyk. That means NBC Sports Philadelphia will have to "find a second analyst to fill in when Boucher is on a national broadcast.” The spot opened after Jones was named Flyers President of Hockey Operations (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 9/11).

AWAY FROM THE BOOTH: THE ATHLETIC’s Pablo Maurer cited sources as saying that MLS Season Pass broadcaster Kaylyn Kyle was "suspended for 30 days after making remarks she later deemed 'improper and inaccurate'" about now-former Revolution coach & GM Bruce Arena. Kyle has “been absent" from shows since making her remarks, though sources said that she “could return to work as soon as this weekend.” Kyle while appearing on SiriusXM “The Football Show" on Aug. 8 said Arena was "on administrative leave pending investigation for a racial slur that he used against someone in the club.” Maurer noted the “details of what Arena was alleged to have said or done have still not been publicized,” and the following day, Kyle “walked back her assertion that Arena had been suspended for using racist language” (THE ATHLETIC, 9/11).
