Dodgers seem to close chapter on Julio Urias following locker, mural removals

The Dodgers “took another step toward permanently severing ties” with P Julio Urias, “removing the left-hander’s locker in the clubhouse," according to Doug Padilla of the L.A. DAILY NEWS. A mural in the right field corner of the loge level of Dodger Stadium that depicted Urias also was "covered by a large curtain” and another in left field was “painted over at the start of their three-game homestand” against the Padres. Urias was arrested on Sept. 3 outside BMO Stadium and "booked for felony domestic violence." MLB placed Urias on “administrative leave while it investigates the incident that led to his arrest." Urias is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and is “not expected to return to the club before the end of the current campaign” (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 9/11). In L.A., Mike DiGiovanna noted there was "no sign of Urías jerseys or merchandise in several concourse vendor booths and team shops.” Urías jerseys and merchandise were “removed from the top-of-park team store” (L.A. TIMES, 9/11).
