Jalen Hurts becomes new face of ‘Hulu Has Live Sports’ campaign

Hulu today is unveiling Eagles QB Jalen Hurts as the new face of its “Hulu Has Live Sports” campaign with a 30-second spot that will be running on national TV and other platforms. The spot, via Steve Stoute’s creative agency Translation, continues a trend of humorous takes to promote Hulu + Live TV -- something that was different for Hurts. “It was fun, and a new process for me,” Hurts told SBJ. This week, the spot, dubbed “Word Travels Fast,” will debut on social media and digital outlets like ESPN.com, Bleacher Report and SI, as well as entertainment sites like IMDb. It will make its broadcast debut during the NFL Kickoff game on Sept. 7. Hulu’s full campaign includes 15- and 30-second spots for both traditional and social media. Previous NFLers that have done the Hulu campaign include Baker Mayfield and Tom Brady. Outside of the NFL, players that have done the humorous Hulu campaign LaMelo Ball, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Aaron Judge and Skylar Diggins-Smith. Hurts, who also recently just upgraded his Nike deal to promoting Jordan Brand, is repped by Klutch Sports Group (Klutch VP/Football Marketing Joe D’Amelio negotiated the Hulu deal). Hurts also has deals for Accelerator Energy Drink and Lemon Perfect. Given the addition of new brands to his portfolio, Hurts added it “hasn’t been difficult at all” with the increase in off-the-field work this offseason, which included landing a record-setting $255 million contract extension with the Eagles in April.
