Executive Transactions - August 21, 2023

The Univ. of Cincinnati agreed to extend the contract of AD JOHN CUNNINGHAM through June 30, 2028. His original deal ran through Dec. 31, 2024. The contract extension includes a salary increase from “$475,000 to $650,000 starting July 1, 2023.” His salary will then increase “by $25,000 annually up to $750,000 from the 2027-28 academic year (THE ATHLETIC, 8/18).

USWNT GM KATE MARKGRAF will leave the job at the end of the month when her contract is up. Markgraf had been in her role since 2019 and hired former head coach and manager VLATKO ANDONOVSKI, who stepped down last week, in October of that year. She was the first person hired to the role (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 8/18).

Racecourse Media Group named BoyleSports Dir of Product RYAN THURBURN Chief Product Officer. In the newly created role, Thurbun will focus on customer experience and work closely with the betting industry to create new opportunities for growth. He will begin the role in October (Racecourse Media Group).

The Mavericks promoted Senior Dir of Pro Personnel MATT RICCARDI to Assistant GM. Riccardi spent 13 years with the Nets before joining the Mavericks last year. While in Brooklyn, he developed from entry-level basketball operations assistant to Dir of Scouting Operations and GM of the team's G League affiliate the Long Island Nets (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/19).

Hawks G League affiliate the College Park Skyhawks named Hawks Basketball Operations Manager DANIEL STARKMAN GM. Former Skyhawks GM TORI MILLER has worked as the Sr Manager of Basketball Operations for the Hawks for the past four seasons (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 8/18).

Van Wagner College named Full Throttle Adrenaline Park & Event Center Marketing Manager TUESDAY MONISON GM of Valparaiso Univ. for Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment (Van Wagner College).
