Laugh Track: Taking Care Of Business

CBS’ Stephen Colbert said, “Trump also appointed WWE billionaire and woman who's always in the front row of aqua aerobics, Linda McMahon, to lead the Small Business Administration, which is a natural fit for small business because WWE, of course, stands for ‘Wee Wittle Enterpwise.’ I think it's great that we're bringing wrestling into the Trump administration because when the jabronis in Congress try to block Trump's agenda, Linda's going to reach for the folding chair.” Colbert: “For some people, it's been hard dealing with the Trump victory but in these tough times, I believe it's important to look for inspiration wherever you can find it which is why I am looking to the most inspiring team in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns. If you don't like football, you might be a Cleveland Browns fan because they are currently 0-12. They have not won a single game this season. So technically, I am as good of a football team as the Cleveland Browns right now. We have the same record, but having the worst team in the NFL isn't getting the city of Cleveland down. No, Cleveland rocks because it was announced yesterday that plans for a Cleveland Browns ‘Perfect Season’ parade are moving forward. That's right, if the Cleveland Browns can manage to lose every single game this season, the city will throw them a parade. … It's like the old saying goes, ‘When life gives you lemons, those lemons probably play football better than the Cleveland Browns” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 12/8).

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said, “I had fun last night after the show. I went to see the New York Knicks. … They were playing the Cavs and it was a close game, they only lost by 45 points. It was really good, nail-biter, if you have really long nails” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 12/9).
