Paris Could Bid For '24 Games After Study Sparks Deliberations

Debate in Paris about hosting the '24 Games began "in earnest" today, when a "detailed feasibility study" was presented to politicians at City Hall. While the city "would be a formidable candidate for what would be the centennial of its 1924 Games," the French are "wary after three failed bids" (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/12). Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said that she is "pleased with the financial and environmental guarantees in the study, but still needs to consult" with the City Council before deciding whether to bid (AP, 2/12).
