Mayor Johnson Confident Sacramento Will Have Kings Arena Plan

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson said that he is "optimistic the city is on course" to have a Kings arena financing plan "together before a March deadline – or will be close enough to prove to the NBA the city should keep" the team. Johnson "was not concerned by the closeness of the most recent City Council vote on the issue Tuesday," in which a 5-4 majority kept the financing plan off the June ballot. Johnson: "It has said to the NBA that this council and this community are serious about keeping this team here" (SACRAMENTO BEE, 2/10).
