Ramsey County To Submit New Vikings Stadium Plan To Lawmakers

Ramsey County, Minn., today is expected to submit its “third stab at a financing plan” for a Vikings stadium in Arden Hills to Gov. Mark Dayton and state legislators. The plan "relies on revenue from parking lot naming rights, parking fees, an admissions surcharge, stadium sales taxes and taxes collected on ancillary developments.” It is projected to raise $20.6M per year "from the assortment of user fees." Unlike previous proposals, the new one "doesn't rely on countywide sales, liquor or food tax increases" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/10).
