Bucks' State-Of-The-Art New Training Facility Gets High Marks From City, Players

Bucks execs said that they "achieved their goal of creating a world-class training center for players and coaches as the team unveiled" the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center on Thursday, a $31M downtown Milwaukee facility that is the "first of three new Bucks-related structures to be finished," according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. A bevy of local politicians and health care industry execs "attended a grand-opening ceremony and tour." Bucks co-Owner Mike Fascitelli, who leads the team’s real estate development efforts, said that the new training center will have a "positive impact on the surrounding downtown and central city neighborhoods" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/3). In Milwaukee, Gary D'Amato writes under the header, "Bucks' New Training Facility Has 'Wow' Factor." The team "spared no expense and overlooked no detail in the conception, design and execution of the building." The Sports Science Center "represents the future of NBA player training and engagement." Bucks F Thon Maker said, "It definitely exceeded my expectations." In the long run, it "could make the Bucks a better team" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/4). Also in Milwaukee, James Nelson writes under the header, "Praise Rolls In For Milwaukee Bucks' Commitment To Community At Practice Facility Grand Opening." Bucks ownership said that it is "redoubling efforts to become part of the community as it rebuilds the team and helps transform downtown." Civic leaders delivered a "thumbs up" at the grand opening (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/4).
