OLYMPIC NOTES

In Salt Lake City, Linda Fantin reports that John
Fowler, the "point man" of UT Gov. Mike Leavitt's Olympics
preparations, "has unexpectedly quit" to become CFO of a FL
company. Fowler: "With the progress that has been made by
[SLOC] and with the success of this past legislative session
... I feel like we are at a point where I am not leaving
anyone or anything in a lurch, that I can walk away and look
back with a lot of satisfaction and appreciation for my
contribution" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 4/20)....Also in Salt Lake
City, Mike Gorrell reports that the IOC "signed off on the
colors and various styles of outdoor and indoor uniforms to
be worn in 2002" by SLOC staff members and volunteers. The
approval allows Marker Ltd. to "begin production of
prototype uniforms, which [SLOC President Mitt] Romney said
will be unveiled late this year" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 4/20).
