NEW NHL SPOTS LOOK TO LEVERAGE THE CUP HOLDERS

For the first time since its inaugural "Cup Crazy"
campaign in '96, the NHL is utilizing its players in TV
spots around the playoffs. This year's theme is a
continuation of the "Pond of Dreams" spot by NHL Productions
which opened and closed the broadcast of the NHL's All-Star
Game in February. More than 30 players, representing every
team in the playoffs, were interviewed for the campaign,
each one conveying what the Stanley Cup means to him. The
30-second spots began airing on ESPN and ABC Wednesday and
will air through the Finals (NHL).
