RATINGS NOTES: Fox's 3.7/13 for its MLB telecasts was the highest rating in its two seasons carrying MLB (Fox Sports)....ESPN's WNBA ratings are 1.0, compared to 1.5 for baseball and 0.6 for MLS (Rudy Martzke, USA TODAY, 7/18). ...In Philadelphia, the June average rating for Phillies' telecasts on WPHL was 2.9, down from a 4.7 in June '96 and a 7.0 in June '95 (PHILA. DAILY NEWS, 7/18)....In Canada, TSN's MLB All-Star Game ratings were 20% above its projections with an average audience of 700,000 (TORONTO SUN, 7/18)....In L.A., the Angels-Rangers game on Fox Sports West on Wednesday, the Angels' ninth consecutive victory, earned a 3.8 for all households and a 5.9 cable rating. Before that, the highest overall cable rating for the Angels in the past three years was a 2.6 for the '96 season opener and another 2.6 for Tuesday night's game (L.A. TIMES, 7/18).
