          Nielsen Media Research will begin metered-market
     service in Greensboro, NC, on April 1, '98, and in
     Jacksonville, FL, on June 1, '98.  Greensboro is the 46th
     ranked market in the U.S.; Jacksonville is 54th.  Nielsen
     will now have 40 metered markets in '98 representing around
     60% of the U.S. (Nielsen)....Flyers radio broadcaster John
     Wiedeman has resigned after only one season on WIP-AM
     (PHILA. DAILY NEWS, 7/18).  Also, "Look for an announcement,
     perhaps today, that the Sixers will be on the new Comcast-
     Spectacor basic cable channel next season" (PHILA. DAILY
     NEWS, 7/18)....Classic Sports Network President Stephen
     Greenberg is profiled this morning in both the CHICAGO SUN-
     TIMES and the DETROIT FREE PRESS (7/18)....CA-based
     Valencia, Perez & Echeveste has been named the ad agency of
     record for Fox Sports America (ADWEEK, 7/14)....In Toronto,
     Rob Longley reports that TSN is making a "determined bid" to
     sign a long-term deal with the NHL to "boost" its schedule
     to 50 regular-season games (TORONTO SUN, 7/18)....CBS will
     air taped coverage of the July 26 IRL Charlotte 500 from the
     Charlotte Motor Speedway on July 27 (CBS Sports).
