LPI SIGNS ON TO OVERSEE INTERNATIONAL PGA LICENSING EFFORTS

     Licensed Properties Int'l (LPI), a worldwide licensing
agency owned by DelWilber + Associates, announced it has signed a
seven-year deal with the PGA Tour to oversee worldwide licensing
efforts on behalf of the Tour.  LPI will license PGA Tour, Senior
PGA Tour, President's Cup and other tournament insignias
internationally.  To service the PGA Tour licensing program and
other significant accounts, LPI will open a new office in Tokyo
on June 1 (LPI).
     GOLF NEWS & NOTES:  The LPGA will welcome a new tournament
in '97, the Los Angeles Women's Championship at Oakmont Country
Club.  The tournament will be sponsored by a family of 18
corporations, each of which will sponsor one of Oakmont's holes.
Japan Airlines already is committed to sponsor the 18th hole, and
Glendale Development will sponsor the ninth (LPGA)....Car &
Driver Editor Brock Yates looks at the auto industry's
relationship with golf (GOLF DIGEST, 6/96 issue)....Yamaha Golf
Car Group has tapped Aydlotte & Cartwright, Atlanta to handle its
nearly $1M ad account (ADWEEK, 5/6 issue)....Michelob has signed
on as the official beer sponsor of the Hooters Tour, a National
Golf Association-sanctioned pro tour.  Michelob also is a sponsor
of the PGA Tour, Senior PGA Tour, and Michelob Light is an
official sponsor of the LPGA Tour (Michelob).
