Lazarus is so well thought of at NBC that in September he was promoted beyond just sports to become NBC Broadcasting and Sports chair. It’s easy to see why. In August, Lazarus shook off prime-time TV ratings problems to post a $250 million profit from Rio. He also doubled down on the NFL by picking up part of the Thursday night package.
