Clark has spent the year negotiating a new labor deal and was expected to finish it before the old one expired last week. A former MLB all-star, Clark has proved to be a strong advocate for players’ rights, although he has done most of his work out of the spotlight. Although the new deal is expected to contain tweaks to the current system, it’s not expected to include significant economic concessions.
