Ducks, CHOC expand partnership
The Anaheim Ducks and CHOC Children’s expanded their corporate partnership for this season. CHOC Children’s remains the official children’s hospital of the team and Honda Center. A “CHOC Night” featured game March 18 will include the conversion of all dasherboards, in-game branding and features.
Cowboys, tequila maker extend deal
The Dallas Cowboys and Familia Camarena Tequila extended their sponsorship agreement. The spirits company will continue to receive exposure on game-day radio and will unveil an exclusive promotional space featured inside Cowboys Stadium during all regular-season home games.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.
Rogers to air AHL All-Star Classic
The American Hockey League and Rogers Sportsnet reached a five-year agreement that gives the Canadian network multiplatform broadcast rights to the annual AHL All-Star Classic, beginning with this year’s event in Atlantic City, N.J. Sportsnet will also produce and broadcast the first outdoor AHL game ever held in Canada at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, on Jan. 21.
Jostens to produce Bruins’ ring
The Boston Bruins selected Jostens to design and produce the team’s 2011 Stanley Cup Championship ring. Bruins management and Jostens have worked together to create custom championship rings for players and members of the organization. The Bruins’ 2011 championship marks the 18th time Jostens has been selected to produce the Stanley Cup ring.
NLL Bandits to host All-Star Game
The National Lacrosse League awarded the 2012 All-Star Game to the Buffalo Bandits. Buffalo will host the game at First Niagara Center on Feb. 25. The Bandits led the NLL and all professional and college lacrosse teams in average home attendance in 2011, averaging 17,096 fans a game.
Bills partner with Johnsonville
The Buffalo Bills and Johnsonville Sausage formed a new partnership. In addition to website and game program advertising, Johnsonville will have products available at Ralph Wilson Stadium concessions areas, and will activate at the Bills’ Shredd and Ragan Tailgate Party on game days.
Youth hockey coming to Frozen Diamond
The youth hockey tournament at Indians Snow Days will be held Nov. 21-27 at three northeast Ohio locations, including The Frozen Diamond at Progressive Field. Coinciding with Snopening Day on Nov. 25, the tournament will be open to both boys and girls and feature six age divisions. All teams are guaranteed four games, including one game at Progressive Field.

Dynamo welcomes loyal fans to site
The Houston Dynamo honored seven of its original season-ticket holders at its stadium construction site in downtown Houston to promote season tickets going on sale to the public. The organization has sold out 20 sections in the new stadium, including all premium seat inventory and most suites. The stadium is set to open in May 2012.
Honda sponsoring IndyCar’s finale
Honda will be the presenting sponsor of IndyCar Series’ season-ending Oct. 16 event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Izod IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights champions will be crowned at the Izod IndyCar World Championships presented by Honda.

Artist drawing up speedway program
Homestead-Miami Speedway named artist Erwin Dazelle as the official program artist for the 2011 Ford Championship Weekend, set for Nov. 18-20. Dazelle, from Bayonne, France, was also program cover artist for the 2010 Grand-Am Rolex 24 at Daytona and 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400.
IHRA adds New Zealand, Canada tracks
The International Hot Rod Association added three new international tracks to its member track roster. Norwalk, Ohio-based IHRA added two tracks in New Zealand (Fram Autolite Dragway and Power Built Dragway) and one track in Canada (King of the North Dragway in Ontario) to its member track list, bringing its international list to 14 tracks and its overall track list to 96.

RedHawks sign concessionaire
Professional Sports Catering will manage the food and beverage operation at RedHawks Field at Bricktown, home of the Oklahoma City RedHawks. The company will manage all aspects, including concessions, catering and staffing for all home games of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Houston Astros.
Blue Wahoos gain official standing
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos were granted official standing by Major League Baseball as the Class AA farm club of the Cincinnati Reds. The approval is part of a complicated transaction that involved other minor league teams, the purchase of the Reds’ Carolina Mudcats farm team, and the relocation and renaming of that team as the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Phillies break attendance record again
The Philadelphia Phillies set an attendance record with 3,680,718 people through the turnstiles this year. The Phillies have a streak of 204 consecutive home sellouts at Citizens Bank Park. The previous record was set last year, when the team drew 3,647,249 fans. Attendance at Citizens Bank Park has increased every year since 2005.

Lincoln Financial Field food vendor Aramark is offering two new sandwiches at Philadelphia Eagles games this year: Inside LB, a London broil with horseradish-cheddar sauce, and Chop Block, a brisket with jalapeno slaw and barbecue sauce. The Eagles and Aramark also said food trucks will be added at the stadium this season.
Pirates tweak annual fan fest
Because of record-breaking crowds at last winter’s event, the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 22nd annual PirateFest at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center will be expanded. The event, traditionally held in January, has been moved to Dec. 17-18, with Dec. 16 open to season-ticket holders only.
Elite cycling event coming in 2015
Richmond, Va., was selected to host the 2015 Road World Championships. Cycling’s pinnacle event will take place in late September and will feature 12 races for Elite Men and Women, Under 23 Men and Junior Men and Women. The World Road Championships were last held in America in 1986 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Lightning makes orchestral maneuvers
The Tampa Bay Lightning this season will take the ice to “Be the Thunder,” the team’s new theme music played on a recording by the Florida Orchestra, according to a report in the St. Petersburg Times. “Be the Thunder” is tied into the Lightning’s $40 million renovation of St. Pete Times Forum.
