Online Retailer Fanatics Continues Int'l Expansion With Addition Of Japan Office

Online retailer Fanatics announced the opening of its newest int'l division, Fanatics Japan. The Tokyo-based office will lead the initial expansion of Fanatics' operations throughout Asia. Fanatics named Masanori Kawana managing director of the new division. Kawana will lead an initial team of roughly 30 employees, many of whom have experience with apparel brand Majestic, which Fanatics acquired in May '17. Kawana will report directly to Fanatics Int'l President Steve Davis, who said, "As Fanatics continues to prioritize international expansion as a pillar of the company’s growth, it was incredibly important to add someone like Masanori to the team and utilize his expertise across consumer marketing and brand development to establish a strong presence in the region." Kawana recently founded FanForward Inc., which is focused on improving fan engagement through technology.
