Betting company Ladbrokes Coral confirmed that JASON SCOTT will serve as CEO of Ladbrokes Australia, following a "successful time in charge" as the division's interim leader. Scott was appointed interim CEO of Ladbrokes Australia following the departure of DEAN SHANNON last February. Prior to the interim appointment, Scott served as the division's trading director (SBC NEWS, 8/2). ... KATRINA NEYLON was appointed EVP, global content at British TV company FremantleMedia Int'l. In her new role, she will manage the existing global content team and "oversee the acquisition strategy for all scripted and non-scripted programming" for FMI (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/2). ... Discovery Communications "roped in" former Hathway Video Business CEO TS PANESAR as the head of its sports broadcasting channel, DSPORT. He will be "responsible for content acquisition and monetisation" (AFAQS, 7/31).

: MICHO SREDOJEVIĆ "moved closer to a return to the helm" of Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates following the resignation of coach KJELL JONEVRET on Wednesday. Jonevret left the club "after only five months in charge." Orlando Pirates Chair IRVIN KHOSA has "already lined up a replacement" in Sredojević. The latter "jetted into the country this week to hold talks with Pirates officials and is set to be announced in the coming days" (ESPN.com, 8/2). ... Romanian MIRCEA LUCESCU took over as the Turkish national football team head coach on Wednesday, three days after FATIH TERIM's departure. Lucesco previously managed Russian Premier League side Zenit Saint Petersburg, a "post he left" in May (HURRIYET DAILY NEWS, 8/2). ... Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian confirmed U20 coach JON DALY "will take charge of the side" for the league opener against Celtic on Saturday. Daly will "step up as caretaker" following the sacking of IAN CATHRO on Tuesday. AUSTIN MACPHEE, who "many had expected to take temporary charge," will remain as assistant to Daly in the interim setup alongside coach LIAM FOX (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 8/2).
