Figure Skating Hottest Ticket For 2018 Games, According To PyeongChang Organizers

PyeongChang 2018 Olympics organizers said that the ladies' figure skating singles final was the "hottest ticket" for next year's Games, according to YONHAP. PyeongChang added it took applications for 384,000 tickets, and 162,000 tickets "have been allocated for the first phase." Among individual events, the A-level seats for the ladies' figure skating final, worth 620,000 won ($546.80) each, had the competition rate of 62 applications per ticket, followed by the women's 1,500m final and the men's 1,000m final in short track speed skating, which had a 33:1 rate. Short track speed skating, South Korea's "strongest Winter Olympic event," had the average competition rate of 9.4:1, with the opening ceremony next at 4.8:1. PyeongChang said that about 60% of tickets for high-demand events and 80% of all other sessions "were available for purchase during the first window" (YONHAP, 5/9).
