ManU Tops '15-16 EPL Profits Table Thanks To New Kit Deal With Adidas

The "money machine" that is ManU replaced Liverpool as No. 1 on Inside World Football’s Premier League of profits listing for '15-16, according to David Owen of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The impact of a new kit deal with adidas "combined with reduced finance costs" as a consequence of a refinancing of the club's sizable debt "triggered a turnaround" in its "financial fortunes." At the same time, Liverpool "fell back into the red, notwithstanding the lucrative sale of Raheem Sterling" to Man City. Overall, this was a year when the combined financial performance of the 20 Premier League clubs "fell back sharply into negative territory, after two years of hefty profits." The aggregate pre-tax loss reached £94.5M, a swing of more than £200M from the combined profit of £126.9M registered last time (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 5/8).
