League Two Side Leyton Orient Fans Cleared To Attend Match At Blackpool

League Two side Leyton Orient fans "will be able to attend their team’s final match in the Football League at Blackpool" after the English Football League "reversed a decision to suspend ticket sales to away supporters for the match at Bloomfield Road on Saturday," according to the London GUARDIAN. The Leyton Orient Fans' Trust had written to the EFL asking it to reconsider its support for Blackpool's "decision to suspend ticket sales to away supporters." Blackpool announced on Monday that there would be "no away tickets available for the League Two fixture," claiming the "decision was taken following a number of concerns," with a statement "making clear that one of those was a possible pitch invasion" following the one that took place at Brisbane Road on Saturday. The EFL "initially approved Blackpool’s request but on Tuesday announced that a revised allocation of 1,000 tickets would be made available" to Orient fans (GUARDIAN, 5/2).

PRICE HIKE: In London, Jack Gaughan reported Man City "increased season ticket prices for the first time in two years" after a report regarding Manager Pep Guardiola's "concerns surrounding the Etihad's atmosphere." Fans were informed of an average rise of 2% on Tuesday, with Man City sources "stressing that is down to inflation, arguing the extra cash covers matchday operation costs." The club froze the price of its cheapest season ticket, which costs £299 ($386.67) and is located in the third tier of the south stand. Only three Premier League clubs "offer cheaper." Man City also reintroduced a "Value Gold" scheme, whereby fans "can put their name down for a single seat anywhere inside the Etihad Stadium at the lowest price" (DAILY MAIL, 5/2).

SHOW OF FAITH: In Cardiff, Andrew Gwilym reported EPL side Swansea City fans "are still waiting to see what division their club will be playing in" next year as the season enters its final weeks. Manager Paul Clement's men "are still two points from Hull and safety with three games to go in their survival battle." But the Liberty Stadium faithful "have shown their loyalty to the Swans cause by snapping up season tickets at nearly the same rate as 12 months ago." The club announced a price freeze on season tickets for next season, with prices having come down by £10 ($12.93) the previous campaign (WALES ONLINE, 5/2).

FAMILY FRIENDLY: In Glasgow, Cheri Burns reported Scottish Premiership side Dundee is hoping to make interim Manager Neil McCann's first home match a "family affair" -- by charging just £10 for family tickets. Dundee also released season ticket prices ahead of the new season, "with kids' books starting" from just £1 ($1.29). The club is "offering a discount for families in the Bob Shankly stand ahead of the match, with Dundee perched perilously close to the drop zone" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 5/2).
