Inter Milan President Thohir Confident Amid Corruption Probe

Inter Milan President Erick Thohir said that he is "prepared to go to prison if found guilty of corruption by investigators" examining the organization of the 2018 Asian Games, according to Ben Gladwell of ESPN.com. Thohir has been "drawn into the investigation" because he is president of the Indonesian Olympic Committee. Thohir said, "We have the deepest of respect for the law and, if it were to be proven that I have some responsibility in this, then I am prepared to pay as is right to do." However, Inter released a statement on Tuesday that said Thohir was not being investigated as a suspect but was collaborating with the investigation "to the Indonesian anti-corruption authorities in his role as president of the Indonesian Olympic Committee." Thohir has been Inter's president since '13 and remained in the position "even after the Suning group acquired" almost 70% of the club last June (ESPN.com, 3/8).
