Marketplace Roundup: Zimbabwe FA Set To Unveil Flagship Sponsor

Zimbabwe FA (ZIFA) will reveal a flagship sponsor and "a new corporate sponsor for the Warriors' Nations Cup campaign in Gabon next month." The sponsor, which will "bankroll" the Warriors' 2017 Nations Cup campaign and will also be corporate partner for the association, "will be unveiled this week." The Warriors "have not had a corporate sponsor for years," with coach Callisto Pasuwa's salary and welfare "being taken care of" by businessman Wicknell Chivayo (Zimbabwe HERALD, 12/19).

The Int'l Judo Federation renewed its partnership agreement with Chinese company Taishan Sports Group. It will run for another four years, until '20. The renewed partnership includes a cooperation on judo equipment research as Taishan Sports Group is becoming the research center for the IJF regarding tatami, judogi and power-training technology (IJF).

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. announced Arsenal and German attacking midfielder Mesut Özil as an official ambassador for its video game PES. Özil joins the Konami team as it launches its PES League Road to Cardiff eSport tournament. The official Champions League eSports tournament's '16-17 season kicked off Thursday on PlayStation4 and PlayStation3 (Konami).

Bank of Baroda has become the first Indian company to sign up as a national supporter for the U17 World Cup India 2017, the first FIFA event to be hosted on the subcontinent (FIFA).
