Confederation Of African Football Re-Signs French Telecom Orange Through '24

Mobile network operator Orange has signed an eight-year extension of its agreement with the Confederation of African Football, "which will see them sponsor five of the organisation’s major tournaments," according to Liam Morgan of INSIDE THE GAMES. The new deal, which began in '08, will run from '17-24 and "will include events such as the Africa Cup of Nations." Orange will also sponsor the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, the Women Africa Cup of Nations, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup as part of the agreement. As well as the '17 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the company will also partner with the '19 event in Cameroon, the '21 tournament in Ivory Coast and the '23 tournament in Guinea. The deal encompasses the next four U20 Africa Cup of Nations events from '17-23 and the final phase of the CAF Champions League, the leading African club competition, from '17-24. It "also features the biennial Women Africa Cup of Nations" between '18-24 (INSIDE THE GAMES, 12/16).
