LPGA Announces McKayson New Zealand Women's Open To Debut In '17

The LPGA Tour will be heading to New Zealand next year for the McKayson New Zealand Womens Open which will take place Sept. 28-Oct. 1 at the Windross Farm Golf Course in Ardmore, Auckland, according to the NEW ZEALAND HERALD. The event, which will boast a purse of NZ$1.3M ($910,000), will mark the first LPGA or PGA Tour event to take place in New Zealand. New Zealand Golf and its promoter The Clubhouse (NZ) Ltd. have "reached a significant title sponsorship agreement with MCS Holdings Inc." which owns apparel and accessory sports brand McKayson. McKayson is a "newly launched global brand offering high quality sportswear created using its own unique design team, a high level of technology and powerful sourcing capability throughout the world." The announcement is the "culmination of a two-year vision to attract one of the world's biggest womens sporting organizations to New Zealand," said The Clubhouse (NZ) Ltd Managing Dir Michael Goldstein (NZ HERALD, 11/17).
