Marketplace Roundup: New South Wales Pushing Golf With Inclusion Program

Golf will become an "even more inclusive sport" in New South Wales following a "landmark initiative encouraging people living with an intellectual disability to participate in the game." Golf clubs across the state will "host a series of play and learn days following a partnership with Golf NSW, the NSW Government and Special Olympics Australia." The government has provided A$20,000 ($15,170) to "assist the establishment of the two-year program, which provides people with an intellectual disability access to quality coaching with a view to allowing them to experience the community aspect of playing in a club environment." The culmination of the program will see Golf NSW "stage a state medal competition in conjunction with future NSW Open Golf Championships as a way to highlight the importance of sport to people with a disability" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 10/29).

Polish side Legia Warsaw has "renewed its key sponsorship deal with energy firm PGNiG Termika." The original agreement was "scheduled to finish in December of this year, but has been extended for a further two years." The energy firm, which originally signed a deal with the club in '13, will "receive advertising exposure during matches on the big screens at the club’s Polish Army Stadium, as well as across social media channels" (SOCCEREX, 10/28).

Division One rugby side Tenby United RFC announced a new main sponsorship agreement has been reached with Tenby Tourers for the '16-17 season. Options have also been put in place for either party to extend the agreement for a further two years (TENBY OBSERVER, 10/30).

F1 team Sahara Force India announced Levi's as a team partner for the remainder of the '16 season in Latin America. Levi's logo will appear on the roll hoop of the VJM09 for this week's Mexican Grand Prix, as well as on the drivers' race suits and other team assets (SPORTS CAMPUS, 10/28).

Ugandan Super League side Express FC signed a one-year deal with African pay-TV channel Digital Satellite Television. The South African-based broadcaster "will be the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor." Furthermore, its branding "will be visible on training kits and have a strong presence around the Red Eagles home-ground, the Muteesa II Stadium." The deal will run for a year subject to renewal, and it is believed that DStv will be spending Shs300M ($86,000) (SOCCEREX, 10/28).
