Event Notes: Formula E Signs On As Official Partner Of COP22 For Marrakesh ePrix

Formula E organizers announced that the world’s first fully-electric racing series will be an official partner of COP22 for the inaugural Marrakesh ePrix. The 22nd session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) will take place in Marrakesh on Nov. 7-18. The summit will take the reins from COP21. The official sporting opening event of COP22 -- the 2016 FIA Formula E Marrakesh ePrix, which takes place on Nov. 12, will be the first time Formula E visits the continent of Africa and reflects the growing demand for e-mobility solutions across the globe (Formula E).

The series scheduled to be played between India and Pakistan's women's cricket teams "remains in doubt" as the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not responded to Pakistan Cricket Board's queries on the series since May with a "confirmation or rejection." The two teams "have till the end of October to play the series, which counts towards ICC Women's Championship points." An Int'l Cricket Council spokesperson said that if the series is not played the matter of how the points will be awarded "will be referred to the event's technical committee" (DAWN, 10/17).
