Barcelona Reportedly Weighing Two Offers To Replace Qatar Airways As Shirt Sponsor

Barcelona's shirt sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways will expire on June 30, according to Toni Frieros of SPORT. Both club President Josep María Bartomeu and VP Manel Arroyo "have traveled on several occasions to Doha to renew the contract, but everything is currently on 'standby.'" Barcelona reportedly "has found two very strong int'l companies" as possible options. Neither the names of those alternatives nor the industry they are in "has been revealed." Sport was able to confirm that "both are willing to pay" more than €60M ($69M) annually for the "shirt sponsorship alone." Barcelona's intention is to "announce the name of the new sponsor in July or August" (SPORT, 5/3).
