Leicester City Cannot Show Away Games On Big Screens At King Power Stadium

Leicester City has been "denied the chance" to show its remaining away games against ManU and Chelsea on big screens at the King Power Stadium, according to Anthony Hay of the London DAILY MAIL. The Premier League leader "hoped to beam" back its "vital trips" to Old Trafford, where it can win the league, and Stamford Bridge, to thousands of Leicester fans but it has been refused permission. Officials at the Premier League have had to "reject Leicester's approach because clubs are not allowed to screen games shown live on Sky Sports or BT Sport in front of a mass audience." The rule is in place to "stop the likes of Sky Sports and BT from losing money on television subscriptions, with fans having to instead watch games at home or at a licensed bar or pub." The club will instead screen its "last two away matches in hospitality areas within the stadium, however the suites can only hold a maximum of 1,600 supporters combined" (DAILY MAIL, 4/26).
