Media company Star India made a series of leadership changes as part of an organizational "shift in strategic business units." UDAY SHANKAR will be chair and CEO. COO SANJAY GUPTA has been elevated to managing director, Star India, and K MADHAVAN will be managing director, South. Both Gupta and Madhavan will continue to report to Shankar. These changes position the organization to meet its future growth ambitions on the back of a decade of rapid growth (AFAQS, 4/14). ... French Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre named CHRISTOPHE POINTE its training center director. Pointe played for Caen during the '80s and '90s, and "has directed the training facilities of Sedan ('05-13) and Dijon ('13-15). He replaces JEAN-MARC NOBILO, and "signed a two-year contract" (L'ÉQUIPE, 4/13). ... Mobile technology company VOGO appointed BARBARA DESMAREST as VP of sales and business development in Europe. Reporting directly to CEO CHRISTOPHE CARNIEL, Desmarest will oversee VOGO's sales and marketing activities throughout Europe and will manage and develop the company's channel partnerships (VOGO). ... Liverpool is "set to pull off a coup" by appointing ANDREAS KORNMAYER, one of Bayern Munich’s fitness coaches, as its head of fitness and conditioning. The 41-year-old has reportedly accepted JÜRGEN KLOPP's offer "to take charge of the fitness team at Anfield" from next season following the departure of RYLAND MORGANS last month. Kornmayer, who has been with the Bavarian club since '04, "was promoted to first-team duties at the Allianz Arena in 2010" and has since worked under head coaches LOUIS VAN GAAL, JUPP HEYNCKES and PEP GUARDIOLA (London INDEPENDENT, 3/13).
