Marketplace Roundup: Hotstar Signs On As Associate Sponsor Of ICC World Twenty20

Star TV-owned Hotstar "extended its partnership" with Int'l Cricket Council World Twenty20 2016 through a sponsorship agreement with the ICC for the '16 edition of the event. The agreement "makes Hotstar an associate sponsor of the tournament and ensures on-ground visibility for the platform at all venues for the entire duration of the month-long tournament." In addition to the sponsorship agreement, Hotstar "also holds the exclusive digital rights for the live broadcast of the ICC World Twenty20 2016" (THE HINDU, 3/8).

MARKETING BRIEFS ...
Bundesliga club FC Schalke signed a two-year agreement with Italian ham and sausage producer Rovagnati, with the option of a contract extension. Rovagnati will receive presence in the TV relevant areas of the Veltins Arena through advertising boards and the use of the big screen (Schalke).

Skechers Performance was named the official running shoe sponsor of the 2016 Ironman European Tour. Beginning with the Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix event in May, Skechers Performance will be on site at 26 of the 43 races in the Ironman European Tour. It will have a presence in the expo village and will be featured in event marketing -- including race and event signage as well as new media and digital extensions (Ironman).

Dorna Sports
announced that HJC Helmets will be the title sponsor for the Czech Grand Prix on Aug. 21 (MotoGP).

Global IT solutions and services provider Dimension Data and Amaury Sport Organisation, owners of the Tour de France, signed a five-year deal that will see Dimension Data become the official technology partner of ASO on cycling events including the Paris-Nice, Critérium Int'l, Paris-Roubaix, la Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Tour de Yorkshire, World Ports Classic, Critérium du Dauphiné, Tour de France, la Course by le Tour de France, la Vuelta a España, and the Paris-Tours. Commencing in July at the Tour de France, Dimension Data will partner with ASO (ASO).
