A new stadium for Liga MX side Tigres UANL "is getting closer to becoming a reality," according to Guillermo González of LA AFICIÓN. Mexico's government "confirmed the existence of negotiations, through the Secretary of Economy, with English investors to begin construction of the stadium." Pro México Regional Dir Carlos Sánchez-Pavón, who is based in London, said that "there is a very strong interest in England to confirm the project and get the machinery moving." Sánchez stressed "the seriousness and professionalism of the businesses backing the project, and classified them as world-class." He said, "The financial situation is interesting because there is someone who has the desire to work as an investor on a project of a high magnitude.
