Sky Deutschland Draws Sunday Bundesliga Record With Leverkusen-Dortmund Match

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland "drew a record-setting audience for its Bundesliga broadcast on Sunday," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The game between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund attracted an average of 1.1 million viewers. It was the highest viewership for a Sunday afternoon game on the channel. In the target demographic 14-49, Dortmund's 1-0 victory recorded a 6.9% market share. The day's other two Bundesliga matches drew 980,000 viewers starting at 5:30pm.

WINTER SPORTS: German public broadcaster ARD drew more than 3.5 million viewers for its ski jumping coverage. The second heat of the World Cup event from Lahti attracted 3.68 million viewers. The number translated into a market share of 17.3%. The first heat drew 3.2 million viewers. In the target demo, the coverage drew market shares of 5.9% and 6.7%, respectively. Pan-European network Eurosport recorded 270,000 viewers for its cross-country skiing coverage (DWDL, 2/22).
