Former M&C Saatchi CEO LISA THOMAS is "leaving the agency to join Virgin Enterprises." Thomas, who joined M&C Saatchi in '00, made the announcement citing a desire "to undertake new challenges in her career." During her tenure, Thomas "helped build the agency's portfolio of expertise," aligning with social media agency Human Digital in '11 and acquiring the talent management company Merlin in '13 to create M&C Saatchi Merlin (THE DRUM, 10/10). ... Brasileiro side Palmeira "is set to hire" ROBERTO TRINAS as its new marketing director. The former Ambev marketing and communications exec "is set to join the club in the coming days." He will replace MARCELO GIANNUBILO, "who left the club in August 2014" (SOCCEREX, 10/9). ... Jammu & Kashmir High Court Advocate PARIMOKSH SETH has "been appointed as standing counsel of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Seth "has been assigned the task to look after all the cases of BCCI, which are filed by it or filed against it in the State of Jammu and Kashmir" (DAILY EXCELSIOR, 10/11). ... EPL side Sunderland appointed SAM ALLARDYCE  as its new manager, with "the 60-year old agreeing to end his brief break" from the Premier League to oversee "yet another relegation battle at the Stadium of Light." Allardyce, who left West Ham United at the end of last season, has "cut short his sabbatical from football" after being courted by ELLIS SHORT, the Sunderland owner who identified him as his preferred choice to replace DICK ADVOCAAT. Allardyce: "I'm raring to get back." Negotiations between Allardyce, his representatives and Short "have progressed faster than expected," with reassurances being given about the club's system and structure and his freedom to mold his own coaching staff (LONDON TIMES, 10/9).
