Media Notes: Trace TV Signs Four-Year Deal With Inverleigh Media Holdings

Youth-skewed channel provider Trace TV "signed a four-year production and distribution deal with Inverleigh Media Holdings to provide sport-related entertainment content for its Trace Sports Stars network." The partnership "will see Inverleigh produce over 100 hours of original content a year for broadcast on the Trace Sport Stars international channels" (DIGITAL TV EUROPE, 9/29). ... The America's Cup Event Authority, the organizer of the 35th America's Cup, appointed Mediapro Asia as the exclusive agent for South East Asia and the Indian subcontinent to distribute the media rights to the 35th America’s Cup sailing events from '15-17. The deal will cover the following territories in Asia: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and the Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan) (Americas Cup). ... Le Monde Dir Jérôme Fenoglio responded to allegations of “illegitimate intrusion upon the right to honor of the FEB and its athletes” by the Spanish Superior Sports Council (CSD), saying the accusations were “absurd.” He added his paper has “no strategy of disparagement of any country.” Fenoglio also defended Clément Guillou, the reporter whose story angered the CSD. Fenoglio: “He did his job in keeping with journalistic rules and respect, there is not one denunciation just a simple reminder of facts known to all” (L’EQUIPE, 9/29).
