Havas Media Group has appointed SHARON BROWNE, the former new business director at M&C Saatchi, "to be its chief marketing officer." Browne will report directly to Havas Media Group Managing Dirs PAUL FRAMPTON and PEDRO AVERY, and "is tasked with driving growth across the media and creative businesses." She replaces AMANDA PITT (BRAND REPUBLIC, 9/24). ... India's ANIL KHANNA "was named one of three" VPs of the Int'l Tennis Federation on Saturday, a day after missing out to DAVID HAGGERTY "in a vote for the top job." Khanna, president of the All India Tennis Association, joins KATRINA ADAMS of the U.S. and RENE STAMBACH of Switzerland as VPs. Haggerty, a recent president of the United States Tennis Association, "was elected to succeed" FRANCESCO RICCI BITTI on a four-year term on Friday (REUTERS, 9/26). ... Qatar's Aspire Academy added the role of director of sports to MARKUS EGGER in addition to his responsibilities as director of strategy. Egger, who reports directly to Aspire Dir General IVAN BRAVO, will now oversee all individual, Olympic sports for the organization. He takes over the position previously held by CHRIS EARLE who recently left Aspire to become head of coaching education at the English FA. Egger's past senior exec roles include managing director with Red Bull Racing and Red Bull's global football properties (Aspire Academy). ... Former Volkswagen CEO MARTIN WINTERKORN, who resigned on Wednesday, will stay on as supervisory council member at Bayern Munich. Club President KARL HOPFNER said, "The supervisory seat of Mr. Winterkorn is not based on our shareholder Audi's right to a seat. Mr. Winterkorn was elected to the supervisory council as personal member." Volkswagen subsidiary Audi "holds an 8.33% stake in the club" (SPONSORs, 9/27).
