Former German national football team player TIM BOROWSKI "decided to leave Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, effective immediately." The club said that he resigned because of "personal reasons." Borowski "took over the club's U23 team in the summer" (SID, 9/16). ... Swiss Super League side St. Gallen appointed JOE ZINNBAUER "as its new head coach." The former coach of Bundesliga club Hamburg SV's reserve team "signed a three-year contract." Zinnbauer replaces JEFF SAIBENE, who "stepped down two weeks ago" (SID, 9/16). ... Veteran Indian sports administrator RANDHIR SINGH stood down as Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Asia after occupying the post for 24 years since '91 at the 34th General Assembly of the organization.  He will be made an honorary life VP of OCA (ZEE NEWS, 9/15). ... Leeds United have announced the "shock departure" of  Exec Dir ADAM PEARSON for personal reasons. Pearson, 50, returned to Elland Road in May to help Owner MASSIMO CELLINO run the club, but has confirmed his decision to quit in an open letter. Pearson said, "It is with great disappointment that I have to confirm I'll be taking a break from Leeds United and football in general, in order to focus on other personal and business interests. Pearson did not rule out a return to the club and Cellino said he would welcome him back at any time in the future. (PA, 9/16). ... Int’l Paralympic Committee Swimming announced the resignation of Sport Technical Committee Vice Chair GLENN TASKER and launched the search for his replacement. IPC Swimming is now inviting nominations for a new vice chair to serve alongside Chair JANE BLAINE (IPC).
