Media Notes: RTL Decides To Move F1 Broadcasts To Sister Channel N-TV

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "decided to move part of its F1 broadcast from the U.S. and Mexican Grands Prix to sister channel n-tv." The news network "will show both qualifying sessions, from Austin on Oct. 24 and Mexico City on Oct. 31, at 8:15pm German time." RTL "decided to go with talent show 'Das Supertalent' instead of F1 on both Saturdays" (SID, 9/9). ... TVNZ is bringing the Australian Football League to New Zealand homes via its Freeview pop-up channel in a multi-year deal signed with the AFL. Coverage commences this weekend with the Finals Series where nine games (eight played live) will air over the next four weeks (TVNZ). ... A short film featuring Liverpool FC and Mekfah, a boy from Bangkok’s inner-city slums, was released on Wednesday to mark the UN Global Goals campaign. The film, directed by Ananda Everingham, the well-known Thai actor, tells the story of Mekfah. Living in the inner-city slums of Bangkok, Mekfah is a student with a passion for football who gets to travel to Kuala Lumpur and interact with Liverpool, in conjunction with one of the Global Goals founding partners and Liverpool's main sponsor, Standard Chartered (Global Goals).
