La Liga side Elche Second VP DANIEL RUBIO resigned from his position "through a letter posted on his Twitter account and Facebook profile." He said that "he has informed the club of his decision," but would not make it public until the club "had paid its debts" (SUPERDEPORTE, 6/13). ... National Rugby League side Parramatta CEO SCOTT SEWARD resigned after 22 months in the top job, leaving COO JOHN BOULOUS in charge while the club "finds a replacement." Seward, the club's fourth CEO in as many years, "finished up with the Eels on Friday, leaving for Melbourne with his family after walking out on the Eels for personal reasons." It is understood Seward had been "waiting several months for the club to offer him a contract -- an offer that wasn't forthcoming" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 6/14). ... Int’l Cricket Council Chair N. SRINIVASAN was re-elected unopposed as the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association at the TNCA’s 85th annual general meeting on Friday. He has been at the helm since ‘02. A “majority of the office bearers remained the same too.” Among the VPs (Districts), ALBERT MURALIDHARAN (Thoothukudi) coming in for R. KANAKARAJAN (Pudukottai) was the only change. In the exec committee (City), KESHAV SRIRAMAN (Young Men’s Association) and C.G. ANANDRAM (Perumbur Club) have been replaced by P. JAYAGOPAL (Madras Indians CC) and YUNUS LAILA (Youth Centre CC) (THE HINDU, 6/13). ... FIFA appointed former South African government minister TOKYO SEXWALE to lead a monitoring committee to oversee issues affecting the development of football in Palestine. Representatives from Israel and Palestine will work with Sexwale, who is currently president of Global Watch and a trustee of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, to address issues relating to a good understanding between the football organizations of Israel and Palestine (FIFA). … The British & Irish Lions board announced the appointment of CHARLIE MCEWEN as its new CEO. McEwen, previously the director of sales and marketing, “will be responsible for business requirements of the Lions and overseeing team and tour structure.” The Lions “are next in action” when they travel to New Zealand in ‘17 (BELFAST TELEGRAPH, 6/12). … The Victoria Racing Club appointed SIMON LOVE as CEO, effective immediately. Love has held the position of VRC exec GM corporate, finance & strategic initiatives since ‘10 and previously held exec roles in the gaming industry with Crown Ltd. and Tabcorp, and in the finance sector with Macquarie and ANZ Bank. He replaces DAVID COURTNEY, who left the job last year due to ill health, and JULIAN SULLIVAN, who has been acting CEO (VRC).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Japanese National Basketball League side Chiba Jets announced it hired former Japan men's national team head coach ŽELJKO PAVLIČEVIĆ as its new bench boss. The Croatian "established his name during a long coaching career in Europe." His successes include a pair of FIBA European Champions Cup titles, one with Cibona ('85-86) and the other with Pop 84 Split ('90-91), both of Croatia, and a Greek Cup championship with Panathinaikos ('92-93). The club "parted ways" with REGGIE GEARY earlier this month. The American became the head coach for the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins (JAPAN TIMES, 6/14). ... ZDENEK ZEMAN "found a new job in Switzerland with FC Lugano." The former coach of Serie A sides Roma, Lazio and Napoli is "out of work after a tempestuous campaign at Cagliari." A one-year contract worth €400,000 ($449,240) is expected to be signed and presented in Switzerland on Wednesday (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/14). ... Brasileiro side Santa Cruz, which "is in the relegation zone," sacked coach RICARDINHO. The club announced MARCELO MARTELOTTE as Ricardinho's replacement (BAHIA NOTÍCIAS, 6/14).
