Marketplace Roundup: Airbnb Named Partner Of 2015 Copa América In Chile

Airbnb "has become a partner of the 2015 Copa América in Chile." The online private rental portal "will become an official accommodation supplier to the South American championship." The arrangement will see Airbnb "provide listings across the eight Chilean host cities, creating a specialist site." It "will also be granted access to official tournament branding for promotional use" (SOCCEREX, 4/2). ... Brasileiro side Fluminense "arranged a sponsorship" with conglomerate Viton 44 for its jersey sleeves. The sponsorship will be worth R$8M ($2.5M) -- R$3M ($955,000) in '15 and R$5M ($1.6M) in '16 (LANCEPRESS, 4/2). ... Brazilian technology company Semp Toshiba signed a three-year sponsorship contract with the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF). As part of the sponsorship, Semp Toshiba "will have its mark" on all professional, national football jerseys for both men's and women's competitons, including Séries A, B, C and D. CBF "will receive" R$5M annually for the deal (MKT ESPORTIVO, 4/1). ... Brasileiro side Vasco announced a sponsorship with juice company Guaraviton, which will "stamp the sleeves" of the club's jerseys. The value of the sponsorship, which is valid until '16, "was not revealed" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 4/1). ... BSI Speedway announced Hager as an event associate sponsor of the 2015 British FIM Speedway Grand Prix. Hager is already a sponsor of the Paul Bird Motorsport (PBM) British Superbike team (Speedway GP). ... Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 expanded its sponsorship portfolio for next season. The club has agreed a premium partnership with R+V Insurance. The contract will begin on July 1 and will run for four years until '19. The current partnership with Ergo expires on June 30. This will be the first time that R+V Insurance has been a part of German football and it will also support Schalke's football school as part of the deal (FC Schalke 04). ... National Rugby League side Cronulla Sharks announced a multi-year partnership with Australian equipment hire company Coates Hire. The company's insignia will appear on the back of the Sharks jersey for the '15 season (Cronulla). ... League Championship side Rotherham United announced that Mears Group extended the deal to sponsor the South Stand at AESSEAL New York Stadium for another three years. The stand, previously known as the Morrison Stand, will undergo a name change, taking on the title of the parent company Mears. Mears will continue to have its name emblazoned on the away end at AESSEAL New York Stadium after assuming sponsorship of the stand upon the stadium’s opening in '12 (Rotherham United).
