EPL Side Crystal Palace Makes $35M Profit On Premier League Return

EPL side Crystal Palace made a pre-tax profit of £23M ($34.1M) and "enjoyed a record turnover" in its first season back in the Premier League, according to the BBC. The club was "promoted from the Championship" in '13, when it made only £3.5M profit on a £14.5M turnover. Financial results for the year ending June '14 "show turnover rose" to £90.4M. Crystal Palace Chair Steve Parish said, "The improved profit stemmed mainly from increased broadcasting income, combined with prudent financial planning." Broadcasting income accounted for £74.1M of turnover (BBC, 4/2).
