Board Of Control For Cricket In India Announces '14 Media Rights Income Of $66.8M

The Board of Control for Cricket in India's report for the '13-14 financial year showed a decline in gross media rights income as it dipped from Rs 774.24 crore to Rs 419.38 crore ($66.8M), according to INDIAN TELEVISION. BCCI Honorary Treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry blamed a lack of int'l action in India for the "dip in media rights income." During the year of consideration, the annual gross receipts from int'l tours was Rs 193.52 crore ($30.8M), compared to Rs 216.02 crore in the previous year. The BCCI's "million dollar baby" Indian Premier League "did not disappoint." Gross receipts from IPL 2013 were Rs 1,194 crore ($190.2M) compared to Rs 892 crore the previous year. The rights income from the Champions League has also gone up, as a "substantial hike" from Rs 278.88 crore to Rs 327.50 crore ($52.2M) was registered (INDIAN TELEVISION, 3/10).
