Media Notes: Scottish Championship Side Rangers Board Slaps Ban On Daily Record

The Daily Record "has been banned" by the Scottish Championship side Rangers board. The paper was on Monday evening "sent an email and fax" by Rangers CEO Derek Llambias that said it is "not welcome at Ibrox or Murray Park for matches and press conferences." The message "failed to detail any reasons for the move" that has echoes of its sister paper the Chronicle being banned from EPL side Newcastle (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 2/9). ... Golf Digest will relaunch Il Mondo del Golf with a new publisher, BV Edizioni, part of Europa Investimenti Group. Golf Digest’s editorial content will be licensed to Il Mondo del Golf for a monthly print publication, website, and for multimedia channels, including tablet and mobile platforms, and events. Italy is considered one of the top 20 golf countries in the world in terms of number of golfers (100,000) and number of golf courses (280) (Golf Digest). ... FIBA on Tuesday revealed it had reached an agreement with SportA, enabling Germany's two public broadcasters, ARD and ZDF, to broadcast all of the German national team's group phase games at EuroBasket 2015 (FIBA). ... Broadcast groups Canal+ and Eurosport "agreed a deal for the exclusive carriage of the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels in the CanalSat package commencing Spring 2015." The offer "is exclusive to metropolitan France and excludes cable networks" (ADVANCED TELEVISION, 2/10).
