The shareholders of radio station Ekho Moskvy on Tuesday elected a new CEO. Former Sochi 2014 Olympic Organizing Committee PR Dir MIKHAIL DEMIN "will hold the post for the next three years" after 99.9% of the radio station's shareholders voted in his favor. Demin will be replacing YEKATERINA PAVLOVA, "who announced her resignation in early October" (MOSCOW TIMES, 12/23). ... Gazprom Media hired Sochi 2014 Olympic Organizing Committee CEO DMITRY CHERNYSHENKO as its new head to replace MIKHAIL LESIN, "who resigned last week." Chernyshenko will start in his new job on Jan. 13 "under a three-year contract." Gazprom Media "is the media arm of state energy giant Gazprom." Chernyshenko's work on the Sochi Games reportedly pleased President VLADIMIR PUTIN, "standing him in good stead for career prospects after the event" (MOSCOW TIMES, 12/26). ... French Cycling Federation (FFC) Exec CYRILLE GUIMARD announced his resignation from the FFC’s Federal Council on Tuesday (L’EQUIPE, 12/24).

COACHES/MANAGERS: MOIN KHAN "has been sacked as the manager of the Pakistan cricket team." The former Pakistan wicketkeeper and captain, who was appointed as manager in April, "will be replaced" by NAVEED CHEEMA. Cheema "is a senior bureaucrat who also served as Pakistan team manager from 2011 to 2013" (GO CRICKET, 12/28). ... Italian Serie A side Cagliari said on Wednesday that it has named GIANFRANCO ZOLA as its new coach. He replaces ZDEMAK ZEMEN, "who was sacked on Monday after a series of poor results" (XINHUA, 12/24).
