Event Notes: Argentina To Host Brazil On Clay Court In Davis Cup

Argentina will take on Brazil in the first round of the Davis Cup's World Group on clay on an outdoor court in Buenos Aires. The teams will play from March 6-8 at the Tecnopolis complex in Villa Martelli, a district located 30 km north of downtown Buenos Aires. A new venue "had to be found because the Mary Teran de Weiss stadium, better known as Parque Roca, is undergoing renovations" (EFE, 12/24). ... The 2015 Int'l Table Tennis Federation-Europe Top-16 will be held in Baku from Feb. 6-8. The tournament, a "rehearsal and testing event prior to the 2015 European Games," will feature 16 men's and 16 women's players (XINHUA, 12/26).
