Close To 3 Million Viewers Watch Light Heavyweight Boxing Fight On ARD

German public broadcaster ARD "attracted more than 2.7 million viewers to its broadcast of the boxing fight between Jürgen Brähmer and Pawel Glazewski on Saturday night," according to the SID. The light heavyweight fight, which Brähmer won after only 55 seconds, had a viewership of 2.71 million. The number translated into a market share of 12.6%. The broadcast rights for fights organized by Sauerland Promotion "will switch to free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 in '15, after 14 years on ARD" (SID, 12/7).

IN FRANCE: French professional boxer Jean-Marc Mormeck "attracted the world in front of screens" in his last fight. The live fight Friday on French TV network L’EQUIPE 21 had an average of 691,000 viewers who "watched the last rounds of the French heavyweight." The network in fact posted a peak audience of 783,000 viewers and produced its third best audience in its history (L’EQUIPE, 12/8).
